The Sri Lankan blogosphere is again resonating with the politics of the unavoidable – the country’s profitable war. Eventually we shall crawl back to the pleasures of how one might wear a sarong (the best of the week) and the blandness of nit picking identity. The faithful will do their rants and finger pointing and insist that we be saved through wisdom and dialogue and etc. Peppered about will be self referencing nasal keyboard peckings such as this.
Unless some more things go bang.
Perhaps we might spot the rarest beast in the Sri Lankan blogosphere: a discussion on how badly the rulers of the north and south need this war for their survival. And the sheer absurdity of expecting them to even seriously considering anything that might end the war.
Sittingnut offers some pragmatism. But from the response it is unpalatable for most. Because such wisdom is full of bitter reality, hard to swallow and doesn’t have a happy all encompassing solution that goes down like a decent red after a good meal. Yes a long sentence but I do not repent.
Naturally I’m not informed and therefore will resist the temptation to say anything that could be interpreted (however vaguely) as a political utterance (which would defy this site’s policy anyway). Thankfully I can hold it all back with dirty glass of pre-drunk vodka (pre-drunk by Boris of Keiv – the best).
