Chatroom Rocks!!!!!! – good Colombo theatre

Just got back from Punchi theatre. What a show. What a show! Theatre like the ancients meant it! Well done bravo and all that..

The power of human presence communicating something funny, relevant, poignant and wonderfully entertaining. All at the same time. No fancy props. A nice dollop of layered irony for the post modern types (is it post post modern these days?) to savor for a long long time.

This is not a review btw (in case you didn’t notice by now). Too happy blissed out to be that analytical right now. If you want some reviews here’s a starting point (haven’t read them all). The play was good and I’m at a loss for words say so more eloquently (and I don’t bloody care if I sound like some rah rah fan club).

Yes a lot to gush about, specially for Cerno who hasn’t had a dose of live theatre is a long long long long long long long long long long long long long long time (well I did get some live dance but that’s a different department).

Thank you thank you thank you for the art. Never realised how badly it was missed. And what relief to find it again. ๐Ÿ˜€

Postscript:

Looks like there’s more theatre coming up. Getting married is going to cause me to miss some but thankfully fiancee loves it too so there’s a room to catchup.

  1. Thank you. Very much. ๐Ÿ™‚ It is so humbling and lovely to hear that we were successful; and by succedssful I mean that we managed to live up to yopur expectations as the audience, and more importantly to convey a message about a very serious and crucial issue. It needs to be talked about, in some way.
Thanks again for coming, and taking the trouble to blog about your thoughts.

and Thank You guys for a great perfomance!

The play felt very authentic even in the small details. Eventually I’ll stop gushing and try to describe exactly how ๐Ÿ˜‰

but that could be a while from now ๐Ÿ˜‰
